It all began on 1st of March 2010, where we had our first day of the Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Special Training at UniRazak, Capsquare KL. We had the orientation, the introduction to the program and of course, we met our comrades, our partners where we will all be fighting for the coming 6 months in this training program to be the best.
The 6 months training program consists of 3 months of indoor/ classroom based training and 3 months of internship. There are 3 modules in the classroom-based learning which are:
- Communication Module - To be able to convey our ideas effectively to the people, presenting a good self-representative to the company in resume writing, c.v., interviews, body language, powerful presentation and public speaking techniques.
- Technical Module - Scientific knowledge and application of scientific skills including lab techniques and to nurture the ability to familiarize with lab equipments.
- Entrepreneurship Module - Where all our hard work generates $$. Bringing our work to the business or society, driving personal and economic growth.
We had a good session of Bio101 which mainly refreshes our knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP). Prof. Syamalar made the class very interesting though it was supposed to be theoretical by sharing with us her experience in the field and how she succeeded from scratch. The class was enlightening albeit a little short due to time constraint.
Food: It took us by surprise, we were showered with good food (food provided by a hotel!) for 2 tea-breaks, at 10.30a.m. and 3.30p.m respectively. We filled our stomach and had our Subway sandwiches for lunch.
The class ended with a surprise from Miss Farah, a BiotechCorp representative, who gave us a shocking news: we are all going to Ulu Langat Eco Resort for a 2-day 1 night trip the very next day!
